Our Mission

In 2018, we tragically lost a dear friend. Every time he came over, he always had new music playing that he would share with us. When thinking about Malik, my brothers and I couldn't help but remember his love of music. We found ourselves turning to music to deal with this and many other difficult times in our lives.

Music has been shown to greatly help with depression and anxiety and is a positive coping mechanism. My brothers and I were all able to manage difficult times in our lives through music and wanted to share that possibility with local children and teens in honor of our dear friend.

The purpose of the foundation is to collect and refurbish instruments and raise money to provide instruments and music lessons to local youths in Kane, DuPage, Kendall, DeKalb, and McHenry counties.

We reach out to leaders in the community to find possible recipients and advertise the award possibilities. Additionally, we seek funding through friends, family, and the community. Our goal is to help as many children as possible and to spread the joy of music.
